A bullet mold for Colt’s 1860 Army Revolver. This model of Colt became a standard issue army sidearm and some 200,000 of were made from 1860 through 1873 for the military and civilian market. This mold would be a good companion piece for one in very good condition, retaining 90 percent or more of its color, with no pitting, just some rubbing to the handles from handling and a few light scratches on the top. The two-line “Colt’s Patent” stamp on the top is a bit light on the upper left. The caliber and model designation on the side (“44H” for .44 caliber and (saddle)holster,) is crisp. The sprue-cutter is in place and the hinge good. The screw slot shows a little roughness. The mold casts both a round and spherical ball. [sr]
