A mold in very good to excellent condition for the Colt .31 caliber pocket revolver. The “’49 Pocket” was very popular with civilians and with army officers as a light personal sidearm. It was Colt’s best selling percussion weapon, some 340,000 being manufactured from 1850 to 1873. The markings on this one are crisp: “Colt’s Patent” on the top, and the caliber and model designation on one side: “31Pkt.” There is better than 80 percent blue, with some light rubbing to gray on the handles and some shifting to a thin plum or caramel brown, but no pitting. The mold has cavities for casting both round and spherical balls. The sprue-cutter is in place and the hinge works fine. It would display well with a revolver in nice condition. [sr]
