Serial Number: 51145 [1862 issue]. .44 Caliber, 6 shot revolver. Standard Colt barrel markings, matching serial numbers [wedge included]. Hint of cartouches on both grips, sub-inspector lettering present. Metal-work exudes a fine, consistent plum colored patina. Cylinder “naval” scene exhibits moderate to medium wear. Brass trigger guard and walnut grips display minor nicks consistent with age and usage, with one small chip from the forward corner of the lower left grip. Bore dusty, with light pitting. Crisp “action” and cylinder indexing. Else VG. An attractive piece, solidly collectible. M1860 army Colt.
