Pistol is in good condition. The barrel meas. approx. 2.25 inches and will easily unscrew for cleaning. Bore is dark but good. Caliber is .45. The barrel has light scattered mottling but no pitting. The underside of the barrel has Birmingham proof marks.
The frame has a wonderful fern decoration with “BURROWS” worked into the design on the left side. The trigger guard has an eight-pointed star motif. The hammer, frame and trigger guard have light mottling to match the barrel.
Hammer has no half-cock but holds at full-cock and will fall properly when trigger is squeezed. Nipple is original.
Solid walnut wood grip is in good condition and shows only light wear with some minor dings in the heel. Screw heads on frame and trigger guard tang also show light wear.
Overall this is a nice single shot pistol of the Civil War period and would work well in any display.
