$2,595.00 SOLD

Item Code: 172-4000

This type of four screw model Colt Army, a cap and ball in .44 caliber, saw considerable use during the American Civil War. An early four screw model with matching serial number 25306, this example was manufactured in 1861. One piece walnut grips with original matching serial number has a very faint government cartouche just visible along edge. Grips show normal wear – chipping along front edge and near frame.

Rebate cylinder with matching serial number 530. Only traces of naval engagement visible. Barrel address very strong. Cylinder nipples all intact, mechanics very strong and crisp. This model revolver is equipped to fit a shoulder stock and has the recoil shield cutouts on the frame and the small notch on the iron buttplate. Has a nice olive patina on the metal; brass triggerguard is a medium yellow color.

If one is looking for an early production used Army from the Civil War this revolver would fit that bill.
