Manufactured by the Starr Arms Company of New York City, this percussion arm is an original double-action Model 1858 Army revolver in good overall condition. These weapons were in production from the late 1850’s through the early 1860s with a total of some 23,000 units produced at the company’s Binghamton and Yonkers New York facilities.

This Starr double action revolver has small hints of original factory bluing on the frame, loading lever, barrel and cylinder. Revolver also has sub-inspector marks on the barrel, frame and cylinder. Patent date stampings on the frame are strong and sharp and read “STARR ARMS CO. NEW YORK” and “STARR’S PATENT JAN.15, 1856”.

This sidearm is a .44 caliber, with a 6-shot unrebated cylinder, a 6” round barrel and with all original nipples. Stamped serial number of “21041” appears on the hammer, hammer rest and cylinder. Grips are of one-piece walnut and in very good condition with a sharp, crisp military inspector’s cartouche on each side. Screws show slight wear. Mechanics are very good. Bore is clean and excellent.  [ad]
