Made C.1858-60 in total quantity of about 3,000. .36 caliber, six shot round cylinder with a 6” round barrel. Serial number 1881. Frame is marked “STARR ARMS CO. NEW YORK” and “STARR’S PATENT JAN> 15, 1856.” The Starr Navy Model is the most difficult of the Starr Revolvers to obtain. Single piece walnut grip shows a few dings on the butt, otherwise VF. The frame exhibits approximately 50% blue. The barrel has traces of original blue with other areas a pleasing plum color. Cylinder has dark patina. Mechanically perfect!   [ss]
