Manufactured from 1860 until 1873, this model revolver was very popular with Civil War officers and civilians during that time period. Similar to a Model 1851 Colt Navy with the exception of being a smaller frame revolver. The frames are almost identical with the pocket model. The most obvious difference is the fluted 5-shot cylinder and the round barrel. Barrel length is 6 ½” with Colt marking, “Address Col. Sam^L Colt New-York USA America” visible on top. Barrel retains approx. 35/40% of the original blue. The fluted cylinder marked “Pat. Sept 10^th 1850”. All nipples original and in excellent condition. Retains 40/45% of the original blue finish.

Frame has “Colt’s/Patent” one side with some case colors, other side with gray patina. Hammer also has traces of case colors. Back strap and trigger guard nice yellow patina. Owner’s initials scratched into the bottom “G.W.H./1863”. Traces of the silver finish around trigger. Wood grips original, minor wear with storage dings. “36 cal.” marking on brass frame strong. All serial numbers matching. Mechanically perfect! Sharp crisp action. All metal smooth surface with no rust/pitting. Loading lever traces of blue. All markings sharp and crisp. A nice untouched war date revolver. Approx. 20,000 manufactured.   [ws]
