Nice, untouched .31 caliber revolver with a 6 inch barrel length. Manufactured in 1862. All matching serial numbers “49686” indicates a production date in 1862. This Colt handgun features a 6 inch long barrel with a .31 caliber five shot cylinder that retains 90% of the engraved stagecoach holdup scene. All original nipples intact and show normal wear. A readable “Address SamL Colt / New York City” in two lines on top of barrel. Front sight intact. Mechanics of revolver work perfectly.

Original walnut grips show minor wear with minor dings. Backstrap and trigger guard retain about 60% of the silver plating. All screws original and sharp. Minor dings near wedge otherwise a nice semi-grey patina to smooth metal surfaces. “Colt’s Patent” frame marking intact. Overall a nice clean Pocket Colt in a 6 inch barrel model with an early war production date.   [ws]
