This pocket Colt is serial number 181375 and was produced in late 1860. The weapon is in overall nice condition. All surfaces have a uniform “salt and pepper” appearance with very little pitting if any. Some scattered hints of blue. All numbers match including the wedge.

The octagonal barrel meas. approx. 6.00 inches long with a good readable stamping in two lines “ADDRESS SAML. COLT HARTFORD CT.” Front bead sight is present.  Bore is .31 and is good with some spots of dirt that may scrub out.

The 5-shot cylinder has all of the original nipples with 98% of the cylinder scene present. Action is strong and works properly. Cylinder is tight at full-cock. Frame has a good “COLT’S PATENT” stamping in two lines on the left side. Frame screws are good.

Triggerguard and grip frames show some silver finish. Perhaps 30%. Wood grips show wear to surface finish.  [ad]
