14.5” in length. Single shot, percussion, 69 Caliber, w/ 8.5”, octagonal, ribbed barrel. The “1852” date is stamped appears on barrel forward of percussion nipple. Left barrel proof marks—encircled “C” and “A”. Case hardened lock plate with maker’s inscription in cursive lettering: “Mre N. Lede/ Chattellerault / F. De Ruelle”. Lower trigger guard flare for middle finger. Metallic , button-tipped ramrod. Attractive walnut stock w/hatch-stitched butt, with attached lanyard ring. Hammer action crisp and functional. Exhibits minor dings customary with age and usage. Else VG and handsome. A superb, eye-catching display piece. [jp]
