.44 caliber. Six shot round cylinder. 8” octagonal barrel. Barrel flat with nice clearly legible Remington Patent markings. Barrel with approximately 50% original blued finish with the balance faded. Frame with only traces of original blue; nice 2 piece walnut grips. Serial number 82438. Mechanically excellent. Left side of barrel marked “NJ” in very small letters. Frame side just above trigger guard is also marked with small “NJ”. Since this was a state purchase there are no inspector’s cartouches on either grip piece. Overall a very nice example. [ss]
