.36 caliber, 6-shot cylinder, 7.5” octagonal barrel, with attached loading lever, walnut grips, and case hardened hammer and frame; the remainder blued, with grips of silver plated brass. Cylinder features etched naval battle between Texas and Mexican navies, dated 15 Mar 1843. Produced 1858-59.

Barrel marking: “Address Saml Colt Hartford CT”. Barrel retains 80 percent of bluing, while exhibiting minor dings. Case hardening is firm, cylinder scene is sharp and legible, all serial numbers match. Grips display minor dings customary with age and usage. Crisp “action” and cylinder indexing. Bore dusty. Else VG plus and handsome. A superb ’51 Navy, definitely collectible.   [jp]
