One thousand produced between 1859-62. 1st model, .32 caliber rim-fire, 6 shot revolver. Barrel is 2.25” long octagonal with well-worn markings: “Allen & Wheelock Worchester, MS. US. / Allen’s Pat’s. Sept. Sept. 7, Nov. 9, 1858.” on left side. Features a mortised front blade sight of brass. Left side of frame in front of cylinder is also stamped “July 3, 1860”. Underside of barrel and back face of cylinder have serial number “144”. Cylinder has a scene of dogs chasing rabbits. Walnut grips retain original finish.

In condition, the markings are well worn and all gunmetal exhibits a consistent “pewter” color patina with pitting and some slight surface rust. Cocking and indexing mechanism crisp and functional. Bore is clear with good rifling. Dings and dents from use and age, but in all an attractive piece, and definitely collectible. [jet]
