.44 Caliber, 6 shot percussion revolver, with 8” barrel. Serial number 109919 (1863 production). Walnut grips with inspector cartouches, sub-inspector barrel lettering, and matching serial numbers. Standard Colt barrel marking: “Address Col. Saml Colt New- York U.S. America—“. Cylinder naval battle scene worn but visible.
Barrel exhibits a few nicks and a plumb colored patina that blends well with equally plumb-colored case-hardened frame and back strap. Brass trigger guard frame displays light tarnish. Cylinder indexing crisp; bore is dusty and slightly pitted. Else VG plus and handsome. Solid collectible, fine display piece. [jp]
