Between 1871 to 1879 the Whitneyville Armory in Connecticut utilized its manufacturing center to produce a wide variety of small arms and shoulder arms for both government and civilian use.

One type of small, brass framed pocket arm manufactured was this solid frame rimfire revolver that has “WHITNEYVILLE ARMORY CT. U.S.A.” clearly stamped on the top flat of barrel. In very good overall condition, this revolver is designated as the Model No. 1 Early Style and bears serial #24941 on both cylinder and butt strap. Weapon is a .22 caliber rimfire, seven-shot breechloading revolver matched to a 3¼” octagon barrel. Piece features a spur type trigger, a small fluted cylinder, and a fine set of two-piece varnished rosewood grips. Mechanically strong with crisp action. Screws are in very good original condition. With its brass fram, this pleasant-looking Whitneyville rimfire revolver makes a wonderful addition to any collection of secondary sidearms. [jet]
