Exceptional example of the standard issue 9mm service pistol used by the Germans in World War II. Principal markings include: “262f” (serial number); “ac 43” (manufacturer’s code and year of manufacture); eagle over “359” (military acceptance stamps); “P.38” (model designation for Pistole 1938). The condition is exceptional with 99% of blue remaining; really Like New and Unissued! The bore is perfect and perhaps only test rounds were fired through it. The pistol is fully functioning, including the safety de-cocker (which is often broken on P.38 pistols). All the serial numbers match and the magazine is the correct type marked with the “359” inspection code (P.38 magazines were not numbered to the gun after March 1942). As designated by the “ac” manufacturer’s code, the pistol was made by Carl Walther Waffenfabrik, Zella-Mehlis. Walther manufactured 150,000 P.38 pistols in 1943; based on the serial number, this pistol was made in May 1943.

P.38 pistols in this condition rarely come on the market! Excellent opportunity to own a collector grade classic German pistol made in mid-1943 just prior to the Anglo-American landings in Sicily and the German offensive at Kursk!  [SK]
