Weapon is .31 caliber revolver made by the Manhattan Fire Arms Company and bears serial #947 throughout except for the wedge which is blank.

Barrel is 4.00 inches in length and is octagon in shape. Surface is dark with pinprick pitting scattered throughout. Top flat has a faint “MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS MANUFG. CO. NEW YORK” mark. Brass bead front sight is present at top of muzzle. Bore has good rifling but is dirty and needs cleaned.

Loading lever is tight and hard to operate due to a sticky catch.

Five-shot cylinder is plain and matches the barrel in condition. All original nipples are present. Cylinder indexes but is a bit stiff and can be sloppy at times.

Frame has a brownish tint to it with some very nice scroll engraving. Hammer is dark. Frame screws show light wear. Trigger guard and bottom of the frame show some light pitting.

Wood grips are very good with only light wear from age and storage.  [ad]
