Made in early 1870s. Total quantity made is unknown. This pistol is a .50 caliber centerfire single shot.  Seven-inch round barrel with serial number 1919 under barrel. Well-worn anchor stamp on top at breech.

Frame with very light makers markings on left side. Right side of frame has letter “P” over inspector’s initials “F.C.W.”.  Bright bore with rifling. All gun metal has a pewter-gray patina with scattered brown surface oxidation. Mechanically crisp and strong.

Walnut grip with worn inspector’s cartouche. Forestock secured by a single screw. Wood shows moderate wear with usual dings and dents.  [jet]
