Weapon is a Moore .32 front loading revolver with a 3.25-inch barrel and six shot cylinder. These weapons were produced from 1864-1870.

Barrel marking of “MOORE’S PAT. FIREARMS CO. BROOKLYN, N.Y.” is good. Bore is very clean with nice rifling. Blade front sight is present. The barrel was originally blued but now has a salt & pepper look. The underside of the barrel is marked with serial number 7991. Serial number matches except for the wedge.

The cylinder has the same finish as the barrel and the markings of “D. WILLIAMSON’S PATENT / JANUARY 5, 1864” along the cylinders edge is faint. Cylinder indexes properly and at full-cock just wiggles a tiny bit. Hammer operates properly.

The frame is silver plated brass and still shows the excellent scrollwork design on both sides and underneath.

Hook extractor is not present. Of the 30,000 of these revolvers produced 20,000 were made without the hook extractor.

Birds head walnut grips are present and show some light wear. The grip frame is nice.  [ad]
