Item Code: 696-34

Cal. 58 “Trenton” was produced by J.T. Hodge and A.M. Burton, at the Trenton Locomotive and Machine Co., Trenton, New Jersey for a Federal Government contract. The lock surface is attic brown in color. Markings “Eagle”, “U.S. / Trenton” and date “1864” remain clear and legible. Crisp working lockwork. All other iron surfaces are also attic brown with areas of pitting on the end of the barrel. Barrel marks “VP / Eagle” are very faint and no barrel date. The rear sight is complete and functional. The ramrod is original. Bore has no rifling remaining and is dark. The stock has been broken near the wrist area and has been un-professionally repaired. 11,495 “Trenton’s” were manufactured during the Civil War. Nice example of a Civil War musket to hang on your wall.
