Cal. 58 “E. Robinson” muskets were produced in New York. The lock surface has a nice, attic dark brown patina. Lockplate has no markings but you can tell it is a Robinson due to the fact that the only contract markings were in an arch. Lock is functional. All other iron surfaces are an attic brown with heavy pitting. The barrel markings are no longer visible. The rear sight is complete and functional. The ramrod is original. Bore has rifling but dark. The stock is dark brown in color and has no visible inspector’s marks. Robinson delivered 12,000 muskets.
If you are looking for an original Civil War musket that was in an attic or a barn, this is it.
