This untouched attic condition Trenton was one of 11,500 manufactured under contract by J. T. Hodge and A. M. Burton of the Trenton Locomotive and Machine Company, located in Trenton, NJ in the years of 1863-1864. Lockplate markings, standard “Eagle” motif, “U.S. / Trenton” with the date “1863”. Matching barrel date “1863”, “V/P/Eagle head” Trenton proof marks are correct. “NJ” stamped into the side and also on the cheek plate, for a state purchase and issued to New Jersey troops.

Front fixed sight and the correct two leaf folding rear sight. All three barrel bands with letter “U”. Walnut stock, untouched, has a small section of wood missing along the tang. And forward of the lockplate under the bolster, otherwise no cracks or sanded!

Regimental or rack marking by buttplate tang – “F/10”, with same markings on the buttplate, which has heavy pitting. Rest of metal furniture has an untouched dark olive patina, with light pitting over entire surface. Mechanically perfect, all paoriginal. Just a nice untouched attic condition firearm.
