This weapon is in overall good condition. The stock shows moderate wear from use and storage. There is some minor wood loss along edge of ramrod channel. Clear inspector’s cartouche in wood opposite of lock. All metal surfaces have a brown patina. The lock is marked “Harpers Ferry 1826” behind the hammer while forward of it is stamped a spreadwinged Eagle over “US.” All lock markings are excellent. Lockplate still shows some case colors. Action is crisp. All moveable parts work well. Hammer holds at half and full cock. Barrel is stamped with “V.P.” and eagle head. Both sling swivels are present. Barrel bands and ramrod are original to the weapon. Ramrod extends a little past muzzle due to some obstruction in the rammer channel.
