Complete and fully operational Civil War period dental tool marked “J.D. CHEVALIER, NEW YORK” on both sides near the jaws. There is some light rust and discoloration but overall the item is in good working condition.
With the item is a letter from the former owner stating that he bought the item from George Lower of The Gettysburg Sutler, who acquired it at an auction held on the property site.
