This riker box display contains a dropped Union three ring minie ball and a dropped Confederate Gardner bullet. Also in the box is a Pattern 1826 eagle breast plate meant for wear on the sling of the Union soldier’s cartridge box. This plate is from the famous Rosensteel collection which formed the basis for the present Gettysburg National Military Park collection. The surface of the plate has a light patina with small amounts of surface dirt. A small section of the top edge of the plate is missing. The reverse has no hooks and 85% of the lead fill is present.
