This iron candlestick holder is of the pattern most often found in Civil War camps. It is an iron socket with a sharp spike protruding from the bottom. This one is still caked with rust and the spike has broken off leaving a stump behind.

This item was recovered at Gettysburg by the late John Cullison and became part of the well-known Rosensteel Family Collection which formed the basis of the present-day Gettysburg National Park collection.
