This civilian style brass stirrup is in good condition with a dark patina over the entire surface. This style is typical of the Civil War period but is not military issue. The sides of the stirrup are thin and delicate and widen as they near the footrest which is constructed of a wider thicker brass than the rest of the piece.

This item was recovered at Gettysburg by the late John Cullison and passed on by him to the Rosensteel Family where it resided in their collection until recently released.
