This riker box display contains a dropped Union three ring Minie ball and a dropped Confederate Gardner bullet. Also in the box is a Pattern 1839 US Waist Belt Plate. This plate is from the famous Rosensteel collection which formed the basis for the present Gettysburg National Military Park collection. Face is black but "US" is still visible. Back has 95% lead fill with enough loss to expose the base of the attachment device. Both "puppy paw" posts and tongue on back. Also has museum number. The black face and lead loss points to this plate having been in a fire.
