This handsome, one-piece, brass belt plate is a British imported “Lion Head” plate that once was part of the famed Rosensteel Museum Collection of Gettysburg. The circular, solid-brass, disc-shaped, ornate sword plate measures 1½” diameter with a single brass loop attached to its right side and a small hook on its back. Plate face bears the high relief of a cast Lion’s Head. Item is likely Confederate and bears the museum accession # 11,232 on the back. Here is an original Civil War sword belt plate from the Rosensteel Family Museum of Gettysburg. A fine artifact of Gettysburg memorabilia to enhance any military artifact collection or belt plate display.
