Excavated example of a Union Officer’s eagle I cuff button.  This specimen measures 16mm in diameter and the obverse face shows signs of some gold gilt left on the surface. The rear reverse side still contains its shank, but no discernable manufacturer’s marks. This artifact was recovered from the Culp’s Hill area of Gettysburg.
