Laid flat on a desk this plate is slightly concave. The face has a light coat of white discoloration but the “US” at center can clearly be seen. There is some loss of material but this is confined to the edge.
The reverse has about 90% of the lead fill and the remains only of the attachment loops.
Plate was recovered at Gettysburg but no exact location is known.
