Three piece domed button with a back mark of “EXTRA QUALITY.” Reverse also has a good solid shank.

The face is a dark brown with one small push. The design on the face is the New York State shield with a spread-winged eagle at top surrounded by stars. Under the shield is “EXCELLSIOR.”

Button was recovered along the Fairfield Road just west of Gettysburg and is from the Rosensteel family collection of Gettysburg artifacts.
