Piece of lead sabot from a US 3-inch Hotchkiss shell. Face shows rifling marks from being fired. Piece meas. approx. 2.25 x 1.50 inches.

This item was recovered at Gettysburg by the late John Cullison and passed by him to the Rosensteel family where it became part of their well-known collection of Gettysburg artifacts.
