This nice condition spur measures 4 ½” in overall length and 2 ¾” in width. Nice, even dark chocolate patina. One arm is slightly twisted. Rowel is frozen in place, with most of its teeth missing. The number “11” is stamped on the inside of one arm.
This spur was recovered in July, 1969, north of town at the site of the Ford dealership on the Biglerville Road. That property has since been purchased by the National Park Service, and the building demolished.
Accompanied by handwritten tag from digger.
