Image shows the monument to the 71st Pennsylvania Infantry erected in the world famous “Angle” where Pickett’s Charge struck the Union line on July 3rd 1863. This monument was dedicated in 1887.
Paper image and mount are mostly clean. Cream colored mount has a pencil inscription at lower left that reads “GETTYSBURG.” Both the bottom left and the upper right corners have small chips. Image contrast is good but both halves of the view have matching blemishes along the right edge.
Reverse has strong and clear black ink stamp that reads “FRANK G. KLAGES / 4027 GREENMOUNT AVE, BALTIMORE, MARYLAND” with another above it that is smudged. One corner of reverse has a penciled number “78” while upper center of the reverse has “71 PA” in red ink.
