Image is mounted on yellow stock. One edge is marked “STEREO GEMS OF GETTYSBURG SCENERY” and the other states that the image is by W. H. Tipton.

The view was taken on Culp’s Hill near the present day location of the 2nd Maryland CSA monument and shows the remains of burial pits in that area

The view is number 580 and is captioned “TRENCHES CONTAINING CONFEDERATE DEAD, CULP’S HILL.”

The contrast of the image is good and the mount is mostly clean with only light surface dirt from age and storage.

Reverse has a printed advertisement for Tipton stereo views. Edge of reverse has some light insect damage.
