Image shows the monument to the 73rd Pennsylvania Infantry of the 11th Corps erected on East Cemetery Hill in 1889. The monument is flanked in the background by two cannons in lunettes that mark the location of Reynolds Battery L, 1st New York Light artillery.
Paper image and mount have only light surface dirt. Cream colored has a penciled caption at lower left that reads “73 PENN. GETTYSBURG.” Upper right corner of mount is chipped. Both halves of the view have the same blemish to the left of the monument. Image contrast is good.
Reverse has strong and clear black ink stamp that reads “FRANK G. KLAGES / 4027 GREENMOUNT AVE, BALTIMORE, MARYLAND.” Upper corner of reverse has a penciled number “88.”
