This shell fragment meas. approx. 4.50 inches long by 2.75 inches wide. The fragment appears to come from the side near the top of the shell as the raised bourrelet that runs in this area can easily be seen.
This item was recovered near the famous “Valley of Death” by the late Gettysburg resident John Cullison and passed by him to the Rosensteel family collection of Gettysburg artifacts.
