Excellent, mid-19th century ‘stanhope’ souvenir commemorates the famous Battle of Gettysburg with a view of Devil’s Den. Image is titled “Devils Den Location / Confederate Sharpshooters. Gettysburg, PA.” The device incorporates an actual .58 caliber, three-ring, lead minie ball with a tiny glass stanhope (extremely small glass bead with a black and white photographic image) embedded in the tip of the conical bullet. A very fine, eye-catching little souvenir of the Battle of Gettysburg.
