This fragment meas. approx. 7.50 inches long x 4.25 inches at its widest point. The fragment section is from the area of the nose of the shell and displays part of the fuse-hole and threads. The exterior of the fragment is smooth while the interior shows part of the internal bursting cavity.
Fragment is in good condition and has been lightly cleaned and coated to preserve it. This cleaning has been well done.
This fragment was recovered in the Confederate lines on Seminary Ridge near the North Carolina monument by the late Gettysburg resident John Cullison and passed by him to the Rosensteel Family collection where it remained until released by them.
