The top bar of this medal is done in the shape of an open scroll with the word “SOUVENIR” at center. The reverse of this top bar still has the original pin and hook in working condition.
Attached to the bar is a circular drop with an obverse that has busts of Meade and Lee at center above a symbol of shaking hands. Around the edge is “50TH ANNIVERSARY – BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG.” The reverse of the drop has a fantastically done bald eagle in flight above panoply of flags and in a sky containing 31 five-pointed stars.
The condition of this medal is excellent. It has clean bright surfaces with very sharp stamping and clear details. An exceptional example.
