The top bar of this medal has a stamped design of a US shield superimposed over crossed rifles. The reverse of the bar still has the original pin.
Suspended from this top bar is a half blue and half gray ribbon approx. 1.75 inches long x 1.25 inches wide. The ribbon is in good condition except for a small piece missing from the top right corner. There is also some light surface wear throughout. Printed in gold on the ribbon is “50TH ANNIVERSARY GETTYSBURG JULY 1-4 1863-1913.”
Suspended from the ribbon is a drop in the shape of a stylized cross with an oak wreath at center. In the middle of the wreath is a US soldier circa 1913 standing at the position of “PORT ARMS.” The reverse of the drop is blank.
