EARLY PHOTOGRAPH OF A SECTION OF THE GETTYSBURG CYCLORAMA

$25.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 635-94

This image and the frame it is housed in appears to be from the 1940’s or 50’s.

The frame meas. approx. 10.50 x 8.75 inches with a black border and a label on the reverse that reads “TYSON’S STUDIO GETTYSBURG, PA.” This label is slightly worn but readable.

The image shows the hospital set up around General Meade’s headquarters as depicted in the famous Gettysburg Cyclorama painting. Image is black and white with good contrast and clarity.

Attached to the front glass of the frame is an old museum label with the number “135.” Labels like these were commonly seen on framed images in some of the old Gettysburg museums. It would not be surprising to learn that this photo may have come out of one of them.
