Paper bound book with a line drawing on the front of crossed Union and Confederate flags surmounted by a bust of General Meade. In front of the crossed flags are a seated Confederate and standing Union soldier amongst the debris of battle. This art work is framed by the words “CYCLORAMA GETTYSBURG.” The pamphlet meas. approx. 6.00 x 9.25 inches.
The front matter of the pamphlet says that the Battle of Gettysburg cyclorama was at that time permanently located in Philadelphia. The pamphlet begins with a map of the battle along with a biography of the artist Paul Philippoteaux followed by an explanation of the painting. This is followed by the Gettysburg Address and an address by Alexander Webb at the dedication of the 72nd Pennsylvania monument. Next is the Order of Battle for both armies followed by a list Pennsylvania and New Jersey regiments.
The cover has some light surface dirt and a small hole at center. The hole is less than an inch square. The interior has light wear with a little heavier wear on the page edges. The covers are slightly separated at bottom but good from the middle up.
