This fragment is from the narrow tail section of a Schenkl case-shot shell and still retains some of the matrix and case-shot balls. The fragment is approx. 2.50 inches long with very light surface rust and moderate to heavy pitting.
Item was recovered in the area of Culp’s Hill at Gettysburg.
