This shell fragment is from a 2.9 inch Parrot or Read shell. The fragment consist of most of the nose section. It meas. approx. 4.75 inches long at its longest point and approx. 4.25 inches at its widest. Half of the fuse hole with threads are visible in the nose.
The fragment has light surface rust and a mostly smooth surface.
Item was recovered from Rock Creek near the base of Culp’s Hill.
