This relic includes the lockplate, hammer, mainspring and other internal parts as well as the forward lock screw from an import Liege musket. All parts are frozen in place. This item was dug, cleaned and then covered in a light coat of silver paint. Item is pitted throughout.
Still attached to the relic is an old paper label with “BURNSIDE CARBINE RECOVERED GETTYSBURG” in black marker. The label is marked incorrectly.
This item was recovered from the southern part of the field.
