The relics were recovered on Pickett’s Charge field by John Cullison, a local Gettysburg resident, who excavated relics on the field from 1935-1959.
Cullison sold his collection to the famed Gettysburg Rosensteel family, who held these relics in their private collection until released in 1996.
The items in the relic box include: a CS Richmond Sharps .52 caliber bullet, CS .577 Enfield with Boxwood Plug, CS .58 caliber Nose Cast Gardner minie ball, US .69 caliber musket ball, two US .58 caliber minie balls, .36 caliber pistol ball for Colt Navy Revolver, complete but separated .52 caliber Spencer cartridge, US .52 caliber Sharps bullet, two fired CS .58 Gardner two-ring minie balls, CS field-made .69 musket ball with sprue, US Bartholow .44 caliber bullet for Colt Army revolver, and a fired .52 caliber Spencer bullet with fragment of case.
