Relics were recovered on Pickett’s Charge field by John Cullison, a local Gettysburg resident, who excavated relics on the field from 1935-1959.

Cullison sold his collection to the famed Gettysburg Rosensteel family, who held these relics in their private collection until released in 1996.

The items in the relic box include: two crude CS iron case shots, US/CS 12 pound Spherical Shell fragment showing Fuze top, two steel US case shots, .36 caliber pistol ball for Colt Navy revolver, intact Williams Cleaner bullet, US .58 caliber Star in Base minie ball, US 10 pounder Parrott Shell fragment, CS handmade .69 caliber Musket ball, three fired US .58 caliber minie balls, Soldier’s camp knife, two CS .58 caliber nose cast mine balls, fired US Sharps bullet, CS Enfield .577 bullet wit Boxwood plug, Soldier’s camp spoon, two fired two-ring CS .58 Gardner minie balls, and a fired US .44 caliber Batholow bullet for Colt Army revolver.
